Background

Prelude I is dedicated to Dr. John Stark Evans. It is two pages in length and written for two manuals, with only a couple pedal notes.

Organ and Registration

Both the swell and the choir call for an 8' soft diapason. Use a 16' in the pedals to balance. The expression pedal is employed at least once on almost every single system.
