Background

• Dedicated to Henri Gagnebin. Vierne wrote to him saying, "Without consulting you beforehand, I have taken the liberty of dedicating to you the second piece in my fourth suite of Piѐces de fantaisie for organ that I wrote during vacation. In making this token,I wanted at the same time to express both my affection and admiratioin for your artistic nature. Your acceptance of this benefaction would please me greatly. The first two suites are published by Lemoine; the two others wil be out in three or four months, having been sent a week ago to the same publisher for engraving."
