Background
Prelude IV is dedicated to Charles H. Marsh. It is two pages in length, for three manuals and pedal.

Organ and Registration
The registration is mostly indicated by dynamic markings. Initially, the great manual should be full, using foundation stops and the swell and choir should use 8' foundation stops. The pedal should balance with the great and then change to soft 16' foundation stops to balance with the choir. Sometimes dynamic levels may be changed through the use of the expression pedal, but where there are dynamic extremes it is more effective to add or take away stops as needed.
