Synopsis
French composer, organist, and teacher
- 19 April 1785, born in Versailles, France
- 1834-38, Paris, provisional organist at St Gervais-St Protais
- 1840-51, Paris, titular organist at St Germain-l'Auxerrois
- 27 December 1858, died in Paris, France
Boëly was known to hold onto the French Classical tradition. According to Camille Saint-Saéns, "his finest work... is the little collection of Christmas carols of the 16th century, op. 15, harmonized for the organ."
