Synopsis

Italian composer, organist, and teacher

  • Born in Bologna on July 9, 1879
  • 1891-1901 studied at the Liceo Musicale in Bologna
  • 1923 appointed director of the Conservatorio di S Cecilia
  • Died in Rome on April 18, 1936

He didn't write very much for the organ but his style is that of the premodernists. He derided the newer trends of the modern composers. He wrote Preludio, Tre Pezzi, and Preludio from 1905-1916.
