- Born in Zaandam, Netherlands on August 30, 1927
- He got his first music lessons from his father Cor Kee (organist and composer)
- Studied the organ with Anthon van der Horst at the Amsterdam Conservatory
- 1948 graduated from the Amsterdam Conservatory
- 1953 got the Prix d'excellence
- Won first prize at the Haarlem International Improvisation Competition three times
- 1952-1987 organist at the Laurenskerk in Alkmaar
- 1956-1989 organist at St Bavo, Haarlem
- 1954-1988 taught at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amersterdam
- He has tutored at the International Summer Academy for organists in Haarlem. He also has given masterclasses and juried for festivals.
- 1972 became a Knight of Orange-Nassau
