Synopsis

Swiss composer, organist, and teacher

• Born in S-chanf on March 22, 1860
• 1878-1885 studied organ at the Stuttgart Conservatory
• 1885 became a music teacher in Chur
• 1887-1942 organist of St. Peter's Cathedral in Geneva
• 1892 taught organ and composition
• 1925 became an honorary member of the Swiss Musicians Association
• 1927 honorary citizenship of Geneva and honorary doctorate from Geneva University.
• Died in Geneva on Dec. 19, 1943

Composed in the late romantic neobaroque style. Chaconne uber B-A-C-H, Fantasie, and Toccata.
