Registration and Organs
Mendelssohn gives registration instructions in his preface to Op. 65. In this movement, a pianissimo dynamic is indicated. According to Mendelssohn, PIANISSIMO = a soft 8-foot stop by itself. Where the PEDALS are indicated, the 8-foot and 16-foot stops should be combined.
