Prelude II is dedicated to Tracy Y. Cannon. It consists of two pages written for two manuals and pedals.

Organ and Registration

This piece calls for 8' foundational stops for both the Swell and the Great. The pedal should balance with the manuals, using 16' foundational stops. The expression pedal is called for multiple times on almost every system.

The majority of this piece is in 3/4, with a two system interlude of 2/4 in the middle. As the piece winds down, and prior to the final cadence, the meter fluctuates with one measure of 2/4, two measures of 3/4, followed by one measure of common time. The final cadence returns to 3/4.
