1941-1961 Rosenberg did not write very much organ music. For his career he focused mainly on conducting so there are only a few organ works. His works started out with influence from the Lutheran chorales and Gregorian chant as well as Bach and Hindemith. In the 30's he used diatonic harmonies, and chromatic as more of embellishment. His later works in his other instruments are more toward 12 tone technique and atonality. His organ works are mostly of his early stage.
